at 1056 pm pdt, doppler radar indicated strong Thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These Thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm northwest of cape mendocino to 37 nm southwest of eureka, moving northeast at 25 knots.

Synopsis for northern california waters..Lighter winds and lower seas are forecast for today. Southerly winds will increase ahead of a cold front this evening, followed by a rapid shift to westerly after frontal passage late tonight into early Saturday morning. Gusty and sudden westerly wind gusts to 25 kt are possible on Saturday.
